Truths
1. Credit does not equal Savings.
This sounds like an obvious statement, but there are a lot of people out there who don’t understand that just because a bank is willing to loan you money, it doesn’t mean that it’s yours to keep.
2. It’s a small world.
In 2005 I was walking through Leister Square in London with my study abroad roommate when I heard someone call my name. I turned around to see my friend Elizabeth from high school looking at me, very surprised. I was surprised, too. Elizabeth and I, who graduated among a class of 150 other girls from a private school in Dallas, ran into each other in a city of 7.5 million people. And you know what I’m talking about - we all have this experience at least once in our lives.
3. You can’t reason with crazy.
The old saying is that we live in our minds. If you’re brave enough to try to reason with a crazy person, be careful not to get sucked into their failed logic. Crazy creeps up on people slowly. One day you’re a normal human being with friends and a job, and then somewhere down the timeline you’re cooped up in a tiny one bedroom apartment ranting about a government chip implant program and lining your windows with aluminum foil.
4. Being a parent makes you uncool.
Don’t try to fight it. The moment you become an authority figure in a family, you lose your ability to be hip.
5. Life is short.
